Artwork Formats
Artwork can be accepted in the following formats:
QuarkXpress Files
- Accepted versions 4, 5, 6 and 7 and Passport 6.
- Include 3mm bleed to document if necessary.
- Include images and fonts.
- Convert colours to CMYK not RGB, unless spot colours are required.
- A full colour print out of the job will also be required.
InDesign CS Files
- Save files as InDesign 2 document.
- Include 3mm bleed to document if necessary.
- Include images and fonts.
- Convert colours to CMYK not RGB, unless spot colours are required.
- A full colour print out of the job will also be required.
Photoshop Files
- Save files in .psd, .tiff, .eps or high quality jpg.
- Include 3mm bleed to document if necessary.
- Please include fonts used if text layers are not rasterized.
- Convert file to CMYK not RGB, unless spot colours are required.
- Keep resolution at 300dpi.
- A full colour print out of the job will also be required.
Illustrator / Freehand EPS Files
- Include 3mm bleed if necessary.
- Please include fonts used if text layers are not converted to outlines.
- Convert file to CMYK not RGB colour mode.
- Convert any spot colours to CMYK, unless spot colour is required.
- A full colour print out of the job will also be required.
CorelDraw
- Files must be saved into Illustrator “EPS” files or a Hi-Res CMYK PDF (contact us for Distiller Settings).
PDF Files
- Include 3mm bleed if necessary.
- Convert file to CMYK not RGB, unless spot colours are required.
- Keep compression to Press Quality (contact us for Distiller Settings).
- If using Acrobat Distiller to create your PDF we can supply OnDemand Print ‘Job Options’.
- A full colour print out of the job will also be required.
Word, Powerpoint and Publisher Files
- All images must be CMYK. There is an additional cost to convert these into a press ready PDF, and we strongly advise that these files are proofed before printing. Please include ALL fonts.
- With the nature of using PC files, please bear in mind that the Studio is primarily AppleMac based. Therefore to provide smooth processing of PC files we must have a hard copy of the job.
Emailing Files
- When submitting artwork files via the internet or to an FTP facility, please append the appropriate extension of the software used, i.e. .qxd (QuarkXpress), .indd (InDesign CS), .eps (Illustrator or Photoshop), .jpeg (Photoshop), .tiff (Photoshop). This will alleviate any file corruption during file transfer.
