OnDemand’s Environmental Policies

OnDemand’s Directors, who each share a genuine personal interest in the natural world, ensure that the company actively promotes environmental considerations.

With recent technological advances in our industry, there is no need for compromise between a high-quality finished product, good environmental practice and competitive cost.

As set out below, paper is sourced predominantly from eco-friendly stocks, with our Accreditations underpinning our own need for a verifiable supply-chain back to sustainable sources.

The inks we use are already overwhelmingly vegetable-oil based, with a determination to achieve complete changeover.

We use Eco friendly printing productsAn important recent advance in our Environmental policy has been a major reduction in chemical content within our plate-making system. This is thanks to the introduction of Fuji violet LP-NV ‘Lo-Chem’ plates and the PlateRite Micra system.

Where chemicals are still necessary – for example in the press damping system - these are collected and recycled by a leading waste-handling organization.

Our Environmental Accreditations

PEFC & FSC

OnDemand hold certification from both the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) and the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).

These two worldwide organisations define international standards for sustainable forest management, and are themselves independently monitored. Their Chain of Custody certification systems trace forest products throughout the supply chain.

OnDemand’s certifications by both bodies underlines our strong commitment to responsible paper sourcing, and to reducing the loss of woodland, largely caused by unmanaged deforestation.

Environment Agency Registration

This gives confirmation that we dispose of any environmentally harmful waste with an ISO-registered company, who provide traceability as to how and where the waste has been disposed of. This information is then passed to the Environment Agency.
